This sermon was recorded on March 13, 2016 and delivered by Tyler Tankersley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO.
The scripture referenced in this sermon is from the Book of Matthew, chapter 7, verses 1 through 12.
(1) "Do not judge so that you will not be judged. (2) "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you (3) "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? (4) "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? (5) "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (6) "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.(7) "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
In "Living A Good Life", Tyler explores some well-known passages such as the Golden Rule and "Judge not lest ye be judged." As Jesus begins to wrap up his teachings in the Sermon on the Mount, Tyler mines this passages for some common themes and wrestles with important questions.
What does it mean to "judge" someone?
When you feel that you have done all that you can for somebody, when do you finally step away? How does the Golden Rule apply in the kingdom of God?
